Sudbury Rockhounds Season – Week #1 Communication

UpdatedMonday May 9, 2022 byGSLA.

Hello Parents/Guardians, After weeks of preparation, we’re ready to get back onto the floor! After two very long years away from our favourite sport, we hope that you are as excited as we are to be playing lacrosse again in Sudbury. Beginning the week of May 9th, your child will receive two (2) one hour floor times per week. We anticipate a 10-week schedule that will conclude with round robin tournament games where possible; you can expect confirming details shortly on date(s), which you can be assured will not be on the long weekend of July. If you’re new to the game, please don’t be shy to ask your coach or a member of the executive any question you may have. For the house league program, our philosophy is to teach the fundamentals of the game of lacrosse while ensuring your child is having fun every time they step on the floor. Of special mention, controlled by refs and coaches, while body contact (cross checking) is permitted in lacrosse, you will note that we work diligently to control the contact between players through a controlled “bump”. This is to support continued development and learning of the game for new players, while allowing any returning players to work on foot speed and stick skills in a more controlled environment. Please keep in mind, if your child is looking for more opportunity to play, in addition to House League, we offer a Rep system that allows for an additional floor time per week and attendance at two (2) invitational tournaments and one (1) year end Provincial Championship Tournament. In addition to myself, you can contact our VP of Rep Dan Mead at for additional details. Yours in lacrosse,
